The EU Presidency conference Science in Dialogue will outline different perspectives on how to further develop the dialogue and interaction between science and society. It will discuss how societal actors, researchers and innovators become more mutually responsive and reflective with regard to the ethical acceptability, sustainability and societal desirability of the direction taken by the innovation process and its marketable products.
Entitled to nominate are specialists and experts in the field of child and adolescent research worldwide. The Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize awards outstanding scientific contributions of individuals from all disciplines aiming at the improvement of young people’s development and perspectives worldwide. All documents pertaining to the nomination should be submitted to the offices of the Jacobs Foundation by 15 March 2012.
A Science Shop provides independent, participatory research support in response to concerns experienced by civil society.
Science Shops use the term ‘science’ in its broadest sense, incorporating social and human sciences, as well as natural, physical, engineering and technical sciences.

The 5th Living Knowledge Conference will focus on getting more insight into processes, and develop specific policy recommendations that resonate with public concerns and articulated research needs.
The PERARES online debate series starts with a pilot on nanotechnology: NGOs, industry and government previously have initiated discussions which now will be compared considering the possibilities of public influence on and participation in the development of a new technology area.
