Entitled to nominate are specialists and experts in the field of child and adolescent research worldwide. The Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize awards outstanding scientific contributions of individuals from all disciplines aiming at the improvement of young people’s development and perspectives worldwide. All documents pertaining to the nomination should be submitted to the offices of the Jacobs Foundation by 15 March 2012.

What innovation is needed to guide research towards public concerns? How can civil society fully participate in the co-creation of knowledge? The 5th Living Knowledge Conference will focus on getting more insight into processes, and develop specific policy recommendations that resonate with public concerns and articulated research needs.
PERARES
stands for Public Engagement with Research and Research Engagement with Society . This FP7 funded project pilots and assesses alternative forms of agenda-setting dialogues and starts a web portal for debates on science to articulate research requests of civil society. PERARES also supports 9 new Science Shop like facilities throughout Europe, investigates on the role of higher education institutes and research funders in supporting co-operation with CSOs and organizes 2 large conferences.
The PERARES online debate series starts with a pilot on nanotechnology: NGOs, industry and government previously have initiated discussions which now will be compared considering the possibilities of public influence on and participation in the development of a new technology area.
