National Science Shop Networks
Science Shops that share the same language and that share the same borders, but in some cases also communicate across borders, have joined to found Science Shop networks. These networks often serve as enablers of bigger national or international projects.
Wetenschapswinkels is a network of Science Shops in the Netherlands and the flamish speaking part of Belgium. They serve as intermediaries for knowledge transfer between society and university.
A German speaking Science Shop Network that aims to transmit knowledge locally and regionally, to trigger discussions between like-minded people and dissidents and to build a bridge between the citizens and science istitutions. It includes Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Community-Based Research Canada
A national champion and facilitator for community-based research (CBR) and campus-community engagement in Canada which brings together key players of community-campus partnerships. Their network builds capacity for academia and broader communities to collaborate and use research as a tool to mobilize community participation and action.
Asia-Pacific University-Community Engagement Network is a regional network of academic institutions of higher learning concerned with promoting the culture of university-community engagement in a proactive, inclusive, holistic and participatory way.It is motivated by the belief that institution of higher learning and the community can unite to co-create knowledge to enhance the social, economic and environment of the community in the region of Asia-Pacific.
Association Science et Bien Commune
Founded in July 2011 in Quebec as a not-for-profit organization, the Association's mission is to stimulate vigilance and action for an open and democratized science that serves the common good.
Gathering about twenty organisations in three continents (Africa, Europe and North America), the Francophone network was established in 2015. It includes a wide diversity of science shop models all aiming at providing research capability and expertise to answer the needs from CSOs or organized citizens.
Co-creation of knowledge, participatory action research, communication services or legal counseling are some of the many kinds of activities proposed by these science shops.
